The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Program

Are you interested in receiving training from the Fort Collins Digital Workshop but don’t have the necessary funds? You may be eligible to receive financial aid through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program. The WIA program is federally-funded and designed to help job seekers prepare for employment, find and keep a job, and increase earnings.

Our hands-on courses can help you reach your career goals in no time!  All Certification Programs offered by the FCDW are approved for WIA funding in Colorado and Wyoming. You may also be eligible to take additional courses offered by the FCDW that are not included in our Certification Programs. Approval for additional courses is based on a case-by-case basis. Popular career paths include Business Administration, Graphic Design, Web Design, and more.

What is the Workforce Investment Act (WIA)?

The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) is a federally-funded program and designed to help job seekers prepare for employment, find and keep a job, and increase earnings.

How do I know if I'm eligible for WIA funding?

There are several requirements each client must meet in order to qualify for the WIA program. Please contact your local Workforce Center for more information.

How can I benefit from the WIA?

Once you are approved through the appropriate WIA program in your county and state, you will have access to funding for education and training. In addition, there are numerous WIA workshops, seminars, and partnerships that will help you get back into the workforce.

Is WIA funding a statewide program or a county-wide program?

The WIA is available to every state, but administered at the county level.  You will need to contact your county of residence to get started and see if you qualify for training funds. The process for each county may vary.

Can I get funding from the WIA to take courses at the FCDW?

Yes! All Certification Programs offered by the FCDW are approved for Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funding in Colorado and Wyoming.
